Conference 21 au 23 juin 2006
Location: Toulouse, France
Theme: La responsabilité sociale des enterprises
“Taking into consideration the human values and Corporate Social Responsibility within Europe. The Occupational Social Work: an opportunity for Human Resources”.
ABOUT THIS MEETING
Enterprises modernisation has, over the last 20 years, drastically changed the social economic landscape... sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and fair trade are concepts which emerged from this development.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assumes an appropriate balance between the company and the social environment in which it operates. The company finds itself, in a way, socially “embedded” which confers tights and obligations that can be formalized in a code of ethics, in an environmental policy and in a “workers-as-stake holders” policy.
Whether they control it, or not control, enterprises are involved in the Corporate Social Responsibility. “Human Resources” must play its parts. It must integrate human values into its management procedures and social policies.
The Occupational Social Worker is one actor of the Human Resources function. Social workers’ professional ethics, their knowledge about work conditions as well as the daily life of a company, bring an added value to human resource management by introducing the idea of sensitive and subjective individuals to the overall human investment.
In the European context, what’s about Occupational Social Work within companies? What contribution does it make in the integration of human values? What added values does Occupational Social Work bring in Human Resource Management?
